“Being a student at the Burnett School of Medicine has helped cultivate a level of empathy that will be instrumental in shaping my approach to patient care. It instilled in me a commitment to preserving the humanity within medicine and reinforced the transformative power of empathy and compassion in fostering healing, even in the most challenging circumstances.” — Sam Sayed University. He recently matched at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota, in Emergency Medicine and will graduate in May. Sam has held several leadership roles: as a Burnett Brand Ambassador, as an executive board member of the Student National Medical Association, including serving on the curriculum committee, and as a volunteer with the student-run Barbershop Talk Therapy Program in Fort Worth. Sam received a master’s degree in interdisciplinary health sciences from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Arts in kinesiology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
