The Natural Resources Research Initiative (NRRI) is a university wide program launched in 2025 to address global environmental and resource challenges. Led by inaugural director Dr. Omar R. Harvey, the initiative supports TCU’s goal of achieving R1 research status by coordinating interdisciplinary efforts across departments. The NRRI collaborates with established entities like the Institute for Environmental Studies and the Ralph Lowe Energy Institute to advance research in sustainability, energy and conservation. By integrating expertise from the Davis College of Science & Engineering and the Neeley School of Business, the initiative fosters innovation in Earth systems science and environmental management.
